This practice focuses on complex insurance coverage counseling and disputes as well as subrogation recovery efforts.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzing first- and third-party insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions and providing coverage recommendations to clients
- Conducting legal research using Westlaw/Lexis
- Preparing litigation budgets
- Drafting pleadings and briefs
- Drafting discovery and discovery responses
- Drafting correspondence to opposing counsel and clients
- Overseeing document collections from clients and reviewing them for production
- Taking and defending depositions, arguing at hearings, attending mediations as required
- Candidate is expected to be able to complete these tasks with minimal oversight, and supervise junior associates and paralegals. Candidate should be able to independently manage workload and deadlines for multiple complex litigations simultaneously.
Education and Experience
- J.D.
- Admitted to practice in Georgia; additional admission(s) a plus
- Litigation experience a must
- Insurance coverage experience strongly preferred
